Quick and dirty, a heavy tax on the annual value of land would collect for common purposes 5% of the current selling value of the site.<BR/><BR/>Don't tax the building. Don't tax the wages. Don't tax corporate profits. Do tax the natural resources they draw from our common stock, and other privileges and use of what the classical economists called land. That's just. It is also wise, and efficient, and administrable, and creates terrific incentives to move us toward being the society we say we already are.<BR/><BR/>Would it create some unemployment among tax accountants?
