Life versus the movies

On Christmas Eve we watched the 1951 Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol. Scrooge as portrayed by Sim (pre-redemption) forcefully, unremittingly reminded me of Cheney. But Cheney is both far worse and utterly irredeemable.

Someone (me?) should write a satirical Christmas Carol knock-off starring Cheney. Rumsfeld as Marley? Casting or plot ideas, anyone?

Given the SEC roadmap for the integrations of IFRS, what are your thoughts on the looming tax implications of IFRS? I have been reading what I can at www.IFRStaximplications.com I but I would like to know what you think.

I'm writing about that currently, in a piece that should be out soon in the National Tax Journal. Main implication that occurs to me is that, assuming strong enough political and economic constraints to stay with IFRS, the prospects of Congress's meddling with accounting rules might recede a bit.
